Neighborhood Forest Tree Pick-Up FAQ's
Q: When can I pick up my tree?
A: Trees must be picked up during Earth Week (April 22-26, 2025). Specific pick-up locations and times will be announced soon.
Q: Is it too late to sign up?
A: Yes, registration ended on March 15th, however, we usually have additional trees available. We will have a waitlist to ensure any additional trees are given to those who want to participate. Registration usually opens around January each year and will be participating again this year.
Q: What happens if I can't pick up my tree during the designated week?
A: Trees not picked up will be given to those on our waitlist on a first come, first serve basis. All others will be donated to the appropriate non profits that help the community, such as Cultivating Inclusion.
Q: How will I be notified about tree pick-up?
A: You may receive email reminders Neighborhood Forest. Usually it is letting you know what type of tree we will be receiving and another letting you know they have arrived. In this case, this means they have been delivered to me, Mentoring Tiny Humans. This does not necessarily mean trees are ready to be picked up. Please see above and follow our social media and sign up for our emails for updates on our upcoming Earth day camp, library event, and pick up locations. Mentoring Tiny Humans will not email you otherwise.
Q: Is there an Earth Day Camp or activities available again this year?
A: Yes, along with the opportunity to pick up your tree, we will be teaching a tie-dying and up cycling clothing, making reusable cloth bags, and other educational activities! Additionally, we will be partnering with the library and other business to provide fun activities.
Q: How can I register for the Earth Day Camp?
A: Details for our Earth Day Camp will be announced soon, however, registration is open. Register using your charter or SDP funding or through our website. If registering via a charter, please email mentoringtinyhumans@gmail.com to ensure we reserve your space.
Q: What type of tree will we receive?
A: We will not know what tree we will be receiving until early or mid April. Neighborhood Forest may send you an email and we will post on our social media as soon as we are notified. Neighborhood Forest strives to send trees native to our location.
Q: What size tree will we receive?
A: Trees will arrive in nursery seedling pots and be about 5-8 inches tall.
Q: How big will they get?
A: Trees will vary by species, however, they will grow into full size trees.
Q: Do they have to be planted in the ground?
A: No, not right away or even at all. However, they will need to be repotted or planted as soon as possible. If using a pot, please ensure you give adequate spacing and be prepared to have to repot in the future.
Q: Are there delivery options available?
A: No, we have minimal resources and delivery is not available at this time. However, multiple pick-up locations will be provided for your convenience.
